Now Hiring – Water Plant Filtration Operator (Midnight Shift)
City of Fostoria

The City of Fostoria is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Water Plant Filtration Operator.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and ready to work in a critical role supporting public health and safety.

Job Duties Include:

• Performing all duties of a Water Plant Filtration Operator
   
• Handling and applying chemicals safely
   
• Troubleshooting and maintaining plant systems
   
• Performing housekeeping and general plant maintenance
   
• Lifting up to 50 lbs.
   

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possession of or active pursuit of a Water Supply Class I or higher certification
   
• Completion of EPA Lab Certification within 30 days of hire
   
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
   
• Basic computer skills
   
• Ability to work independently and in all weather conditions
   
• Professional communication skills when interacting with the public

We're Hiring!
The City of Fostoria Street Department is currently accepting applications for a Laborer position.

Schedule:
Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
(Some overtime required during snow events, storms, or other emergency needs)

Job Duties Include:

• Mowing and general grounds maintenance
   
• Snow plowing and salting during winter
   
• Running regular routes to monitor and maintain clear streets
   
• Supporting storm response and cleanup efforts

We're Hiring – Water Distribution Laborer
The City of Fostoria is now accepting applications for a Water Distribution Laborer position.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities:
-Assist with the maintenance and repair of water distribution systems, including water main breaks
-Operate heavy machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
-Perform manual labor in various weather conditions
-Maintain accurate records and follow verbal and written instructions
-Communicate effectively with crew members and the general public
-Support overall departmental operations as needed

Qualifications:
-Valid CDL Class A or ability to obtain one within 1 year of hire
-Willingness to obtain additional water-related licenses throughout employment
-Ability to work well as part of a team and maintain professionalism with the public
-Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to work occasional overtime during emergencies
